SINGAPORE - The fourth instalment of NTUC U Family's U Picnic will be postponed until further notice due to unhealthy haze and weather conditions.

U Family is a unit of NTUC set up to promote family-focused initiatives and develop programmes to strengthen family bonds.

Ms Toh Hwee Tin, Director of U Family, said: "A lot of effort and hard work have been put into this much-anticipated event and we acknowledge that postponing the event may bring about much disappointment to the community and those who purchased tickets, but we would like to assure ticket holders that the event will return at a later time when haze conditions have cleared up."

"We apologise for any inconvenience that the postponement may have caused, and seek the families' understanding on the matter as the safety, health and well-being of our participants and staff remain our top priority," she added.

U Family is working on confirming the new event date and details, and will update all registered participants when the information is available.

Ticket-holders will still be entitled to collect their picnic with goodies worth more than $40 on the new event date, according to the organisers.

For more updates, they can visit their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/NTUCUFamily and website at www.ufamily.org.sg/upicnic for further announcements.
