IPOH - A 75-year-old stroke survivor had the shock of his life when a group of men jumped into the car that he was in and drove it away.
Andrew Yip was taken on a terror ride and is believed to have been pushed out of the vehicle.
He was found at 10am Sunday along Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, about 6km from where he was carjacked.
Andrew sustained minor injuries to his legs and was treated at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here after he was found.
Andrew's son C.W. Yip, 41, said his father was still in shock.
"I think he was pushed out of the car by the robbers because he has difficulty walking and his knees were bruised. He cannot tell us what actually happened in the car. We do not want to force him to recall the terrifying experience," he said.
Recounting the incident that happened at 9am, Yip said his sister, who drove a blue Perodua Myvi, stopped by a shop in Kampung Simee here to buy something and left their father alone in the car.
"She parked near Chung Tak Primary School and left him in the car while she went to the market for only 15 minutes. When she came back, my father and her Myvi were gone," said Yip.
"She immediately lodged a report at the Kampung Simee police station," he said, adding that police then alerted patrol units in the area.
