Over 1,000 cadets graduate as Specialists of SAF

SINGAPORE - A total of 1,003 Specialist Cadets (SCTs) from the Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Navy and the Republic of Singapore Air Force graduated as specialists of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) on Thursday.

Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Law and Ministry of Education, Ms Indranee Rajah, reviewed the 23rd Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade at Pasir Laba Camp this evening.

Addressing the graduands at the parade, Ms Indranee said: "You are now entrusted with the heavy responsibility of leading men and women into battle when called upon, to defend our nation and protect your families and loved ones. Train your soldiers well, train them hard, and help them achieve the standards that you set for them."

Ms Indranee added, "Lead by example and with conviction, empathise with your fellow soldiers, and engage them sincerely be their friend, their guide and their mentor."

The graduation parade marked the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course, where the SCTs trained under rigorous and realistic conditions to develop leadership and combat skills, and deepen their understanding of the other vocations in the SAF. Present at the parade were families and friends of the graduands and senior SAF officers.
