SINGAPORE - The Community Chest hopes to rally the community to care and share for the less privileged through this year's "ComChest Care & Share Charity Show 2014". The show is also part of the SG50 calendar of events that will run all the way into 2015 to celebrate Singapore's 50th year of independence.
Mr Phillip Tan, Chairman of "ComChest Care & Share Charity Show 2014", Chairman of the Care & Share Movement Steering Committee and Chairman of Community Chest said: "Over 200 overseas and local celebrities, corporate volunteers, students and beneficiaries of all ages have been practising for many months to put up a good show on July 27 to help the needy. It is very meaningful to have different groups from all walks of life lending their support to beneficiaries of Community Chest. This is the true spirit of the movement, and we hope that more will be inspired to step forward in showing care and share to the needy."
In addition, the public can start bidding online (careandshare.sg/charityauction) for items donated by overseas celebrities from July 1 to 31. The items include Wakin Chau's autographed DJ30 guitar, composer-singer Jonathan Lee's hand-crafted Lee Guitars, Michael Owen's autographed England jersey and bilingual children books authored by Angelica Lee, Charlie Young, Gigi Leung and Valen Hsu.
