P1 registration: 13 primary schools to hold ballot in latest phase

Thirteen primary schools will conduct a ballot for Phase 2C Supplementary, the latest stage of the annual Primary 1 registration exercise.

They include Fernvale Primary School in Sengkang, CHIJ (Kellock) in Kampong Bahru, and Clementi Primary School in Clementi.

At Fernvale Primary, where 98 children are vying for 88 spots, balloting will be for only Singaporeans who live within 1km of the school.

Applications for registration under Phase 2C Supplementary, the sixth of seven registration phases for children who have not secured a place in any primary school in earlier phases, closed on Thursday.

The parents of children who are unsuccessful in registering for a school in this phase can ask the Ministry of Education to help place their children in a primary school that still has vacancies.

This has to be done before the final stage, Phase 3, begins.

The last phase, which will start on Aug 27, is for children who still have not secured a spot in a primary school, as well as foreigners.

In this phase, the Ministry of Education will allocate a school to the child.
