Pimp cries in court, asks to go home

He allegedly drugged the 17-year old girl and then had sex with her.

He also beat her and confined her before bringing her from China to Singapore, where she was forced to become a prostitute.

She had sex with about 100 men in 15 days.

But in court on Thursday, the pimp, Tang Huisheng, was a snivelling mess, sobbing loudly and asking to go home.

The small, stooped man cried in court, asking to be allowed home so he could be with his elderly mother.

Such was the mess he made that a court police officer had to help to wipe Tang's dribble, as his hands were cuffed.

When court was adjourned, the 37-year-old collapsed on the bench in the dock, wailing loudly.

This is the same man who preyed on a young girl, neck deep in debt after her father died of cancer, and pushed her into the flesh trade here.

He then blew her earnings of $9,000 in a four-day gambling spree at the Marina Bay Sands casino, where he lost $18,300.

Tang was arrested on June 5 while he was on his way to the airport to catch a flight to China.

On Wednesday, he disputed certain facts of the case, such as denying that he had raped her after drugging her in China.

This resulted in a closed special hearing on Thursday morning to resolve the dispute.

Tang will be sentenced next Thursday, when the judge will reveal the findings of the special hearing.
