Pink Dot 2015 to be held at Hong Lim Park on June 13

SINGAPORE - Annual lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rally Pink Dot will be held at the Speakers' Corner at Hong Lim Park on June 13 this year.

According to the organisers, while Pink Dot has traditionally been held at the end of June, it was shifted forward this year "out of respect for Muslim friends observing Ramadan in the later part of the month".

Last year, a record 26,000 people attended Pink Dot to show their support of the "freedom to love", regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.

They transformed the park into a giant pink dot with torches and light sticks.

"Pink Dot stands for an open, inclusive society within our Red Dot, where diversity is a reason for celebration and not discrimination," said the organisers in a statement on Monday.
