Below is the full statement released today by the Prime Minister's Office:

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will attend the 24th ASEAN Summit in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, from May 10 to 11. He will be accompanied by Minister for Trade and Industry Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Law K. Shanmugam, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.

The ASEAN Leaders will discuss progress made in Community-building efforts towards the establishment of an ASEAN Community by 2015 and exchange views on regional and international issues. They will also meet representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and ASEAN Youth.

Mr Teo Chee Hean, Deputy Prime Minister and Co-ordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs, will be the Acting Prime Minister for the period May 10 to 11.
