SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has sent his congratulations to Ms Erna Solberg, the newly-appointed Prime Minister of Norway.
He said in his letter: "On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I offer my warmest congratulations on your appointment as Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway.
"Your appointment reflects the trust that the Norwegian people have in your leadership and abilities. I am confident that you will lead Norway to a brighter future and improve your peoples' lives.
"Singapore and Norway enjoy good bilateral relations. We cooperate in many areas, including trade and investment, and maritime issues. We also work well together in regional and international fora, such as the Asia-Europe Meeting and the Arctic Council. I look forward to working with you to strengthen our bilateral ties.
