PM Lee posts picture taken from hospital ward where he is recovering

SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong took a photograph from his hospital ward where he is recovering and posted it on his Facebook account on Tuesday.

The picture came with a caption that read: "Snapped this pic from the hospital window this morning, when the physiotherapist got me to walk up and down my ward. You can see the Duke-NUS Medical School on the left, and the new Academia building on the right."

On Feb 16, Mr Lee underwent surgery for prostate cancer.

In a statement released by the Prime Minister's Office on the same day, it said that Mr Lee is now recovering.

Singapore General Hospital's lead urologist Professor Christopher Cheng, who operated on Mr Lee, said: "The surgery went very smoothly, and he is expected to recover fully."

Mr Lee will be on medical leave for one week. During his absence, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean will be Acting Prime Minister.
