PM Lee on Sabah quake: Hope for the best

SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on his Facebook page on Saturday that he would post updates on the injured and missing Singaporeans in Mount Kinabalu when he has more information.

He also said that the parents of children from Tanjong Katong Primary School made their way to Sabah via RSAF C130 this morning, and added that he was hoping for the best.

"Will update on our missing and injured students and teachers in Kota Kinabalu when I have more specific information. The parents and families left on an RSAF C130 at 9:30am this morning for KK. Hope for the best," he said.

PM Lee had said in an earlier post that Singapore was sending personnel to Kota Kinabalu. The team includes counsellors to support parents of children missing or injured. "I know how anxious and distressed they must be. My heart goes out to them. They are in our thoughts and prayers," he said.
