PM Lee sends condolences over Nairobi mall attack

SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has written a letter to President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta to convey his condolences on the gun attack at Westgate Mall on 21 September 2013.

Here is PM Lee's condolence letter:

Dear President Kenyatta,

On behalf of the Government and people of Singapore, I offer my deepest condolences on the senseless gun attack at Westgate Mall. I was especially saddened to learn that your nephew was one of the victims.

Singapore strongly condemns this act of terror which has claimed so many innocent lives. It is a painful reminder that we must remain vigilant and resolute in countering terrorism.

I am confident that Kenyans will overcome this latest tragedy with fortitude and resilience. Our thoughts are with you and your country during this difficult time.

Yours sincerely

Lee Hsien Loong
