SINGAPORE - Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong is on a week-long trip to China, where he will meet President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang for the first time in their new capacities.
He will also be travelling to Xinjiang and Shenyang in Liaoning province.
"Flying to Beijing this morning. I was last there a year ago. Since then, China has completed its leadership transition," Mr Lee posted on Facebook yesterday.
"I will also be visiting Xinjiang to understand developments in western China, and explore new opportunities for cooperation. Then, I will visit Shenyang in Liaoning province, to see some Singapore and Chinese companies."
Mr Lee is accompanied by delegates including Acting Minister for Manpower Tan Chuan-Jin and Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and for National Development Lee Yi Shyan.
