Police alert on false "lockdown" message circulating on Whatsapp

SINGAPORE - A false Whatsapp message has been circulated, with claims that "Singapore national security lockdown will be conducted (sic) city-wide borders...". The Police are aware of the circulation and has announced on its Facebook page that it is completely false and totally irresponsible.

The police urged members of public not to spread unsubstantiated information which may generate unnecessary public alarm.

They also advised the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious persons or activities.
