Police arrest 2 youths for housebreaking and theft

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man believed to be involved in a case of housebreaking and theft in Choa Chu Kang.

On Jan 24 this year, a provision shop at Choa Chu Kang Ave 2 was broken into, and an assortment of mobile phone top-up cards with a combined value amounting to about $400 and cash amounting to about $500 were stolen.

Officers from Jurong Police Division carried out extensive investigations and arrested the duo at about 2pm on Feb 12 and 13.

The two suspects will be charged in court on Feb 14 for housebreaking and theft, which is punishable with imprisonment for a term of up to 14 years and a fine.
