SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 26-year-old man who is believed to be involved in multiple cases of snatch theft targeting women at Jurong East, Pandan Gardens and Faber Walk housing estates.
Since Jan 2015, police received five reports where women's handphones were snatched from them.
Officers from the Clementi Police Division conducted extensive ground enquiries and arrested the man on Mar 1 at 1.40am at Penjuru Place.
Four of the stolen handphones were recovered from him and seized as case exhibits.
Police investigations are ongoing.
If found guilty, he can face a maximum of seven years' imprisonment and shall also be liable to caning.
