TAIPEI, Taiwan - A car wreckage has been discovered in a tree-covered valley on Yangmingshan, Taipei, with a skeleton inside believed to be a man reported missing 11 years ago, according to police.
Police said they found a driving license belonging to the missing man, surnamed Lin, and they are testing the DNA to determine whether it was indeed him.
Preliminary examination ruled out foul play, police said, adding that it was probably an accident.
According to police, a farmer found the rust-covered car in a valley along the road linking Taipei and Chinshan, New Taipei through Yangmingshan. The valley is densely covered by trees and grasses.
Lin rented the vehicle in 2003 from a car rental service and went missing later. The court already declared him legally dead in 2010, seven years after his disappearance.
