Police: Man who killed ex-fiancee still in Johor

KLUANG - Police believe that the suspect who allegedly stabbed his ex-fiancee during a lover's quarrel is still in Johor.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Roze Shaari said the police are on the lookout for the man, who is in his 20s.

"He is still within the state's borders," he said at Kluang police headquarters here yesterday.

Clerk Nursyafikah Ahmad Ismail, 20, who was to wed this December, was stabbed to death by the suspect outside a hypermarket on Friday after she refused to reconcile with him.

The suspect had earlier left Nursyafikah in the lurch for several months.

As a result, she decided to get engaged to another suitor.

ACP Mohd Roze said the post-mortem report on Nursyafikah revealed that she died of stab wounds to her left chest, and her lung was punctured.

"We are also checking CCTV recordings from the hypermarket on the incident," he added.

ACP Mohd Roze also urged those who know the suspect's whereabouts or have any information on the case to call the nearest police station or the police hotline at 07-221 2999.
