Police nab suspected snatch thief

SINGAPORE - Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for his suspected involvement in a case of snatch theft at Woodlands Drive 16 on April 18, 2015.

The suspect allegedly snatched a woman's necklace at the void deck of a public housing block at Woodlands Drive 16 at about 5.35pm.

Upon receiving the police report, officers from the Jurong Police Division launched an extensive ground investigation with the aid of CCTV cameras.

The suspect was arrested on May 19 at Champions Way and will be charged in court on May 20.

If convicted, he is liable to face up to seven years in prison and caning.
