Police to probe exam leak claim

JOHOR BARU - The state Education Department will let police investigate the alleged leak of examination questions by a teacher from Tampoi.

State director Aminuddin Adam said the department would give its full cooperation to the police and provide information to the authorities if needed.

Speculation has surfaced that a teacher from a school in Tampoi was involved in leaking the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examination papers.

On claims that a teacher from a school in Taman Sri Tebrau had leaked answers to the UPSR Mathematics papers to some pupils in the school, Aminuddin said the department had not received any such reports.

Meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur CID chief Senior Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said three police reports had been lodged over the leaked UPSR papers.

He said the reports were lodged in Putrajaya and Johor.

"We are investigating all the reports. So far, we have recorded the statements of three persons of interest in the case," he said yesterday.
