President overseas on private visit till Oct 2

President Tony Tan Keng Yam is on a private overseas visit which started Sep 26 and will end on Wednesday.

Mr J. Y. Pillay, chairman of the Council of Presidential Advisers, exercised the functions of the Office of the President on Sep 26.

Mr Pillay will also do so from Saturday to Wednesday.

Speaker of Parliament Halimah Yacob will exercise the functions of the Office of the President on Sep 27, according to a statement from the President's Office.
