President Tony Tan to meet Indonesian counterpart Yudhoyono in Batam

SINGAPORE - President Tony Tan Keng Yam will meet Indonesian president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday on a visit to Batam, at the invitation of his Indonesian counterpart.

President Tony Tan Keng Yam will visit Batam, Indonesia, on Jun 5, 2014, at the invitation of the Indonesian President, His Excellency Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

President Tan will have a meeting with President Yudhoyono who will also host dinner. The informal gathering in Batam was proposed by President Yudhoyono when the Leaders last met in April 2013 in Singapore.

This meeting is an opportunity to keep up their longstanding friendship and to have a general exchange of views on regional and international developments.

President Tan will also attend a tea with a group of Singaporeans in Batam.

President Tan will be accompanied by Minister for Transport Mr Lui Tuck Yew and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Trade and Industry.
