Prison warden receives live bullets

NIBONG TEBAL: A 31-year-old female prison warden found a parcel with live bullets at the Seberang Prai prison here yesterday. The mysterious parcel was mailed from a woman named 'Siti Rubiah' and addressed to an 'ASP Nordin'.

In the 11.30pm incident, a source from the prison said the femaile warden discovered the suspicious parcel and decided to open it before making the shocking discovery.

"She was very shocked to see two live 9mm bullets wrapped with a tissue paper inside the box.

"We returned the parcel to the post office without tampering the content as there was no 'ASP Nordin' in our facility," he said when contacted.

He said based on information stated on the parcel, they then contacted the sender believed to be living in Sungai Petani, Kedah.

"We contacted the sender but she denied sending the package," he said, adding that a police report had been lodged at the nearest police station.

Seberang Perai Selatan district police chief Superintendent Shafien Mamat confirmed the incident.
