For the past four Tuesdays, 15-year-olds have come to scale a six-storey tower, and a seven-storey rock wall at Outward Bound Singapore.
Each successful climb helped earn a free household product for a low-income family in the South East District. For every 12 climbs, a family in that district got a set of household products worth S$120.
A total of 1,400 students made 380 successful climbs and helped redeem S$3,700 worth of products.
The 3M Step-Up Challenge @ South East 2014 is supported by technology firm 3M and the South East Community Development Council.
