Property dispute drives man to kill parents

A couple, whose son forced them to drink acid, have died after a painful battle.

Makkal Osai reported that Devanand, 33, who works as a driver, was angry with his parents for not sharing a part of their property with him.

His father was a retired military officer who lived in Kerala.

The tragic incident took place on Thursday night.

Apparently, Devanand had accumulated some debts and was pressuring his parents to give a share of their pension and a share in the house owned by the retired officer.

However, the parents were reluctant to do so.

On Thursday night, Devanand demanded the house to be put up for sale, so that he could get his share.

When they refused, Devanand allegedly forced his parents to consume acid that was used for washing bathrooms.

His parents died at a hospital while undergoing treatment. Devanand has been arrested by police.
