Prostitute who allegedly beat up client now a wanted person

A prostitute who allegedly took part in an assault against her French client is now on the run.

The court heard on Wednesday that Nuurul Aliyyah Abdul Talib, 23, jumped bail over charges related to drugs and causing grievous hurt to the client.

Nuurul Aliyyah was part of a group of five who punched product line manager Didier Moise Dominguez, 53, at his Marina Bay Residences unit in March. She had refused his request for a sex act, and called up her accomplices for help.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Stella Tan Wei Ling told the court on Wednesday that Nuurul Aliyyah committed another offence while out on bail. A warrant for her arrest was issued last month.

Meanwhile, Nuurul Aliyyah's younger brother, who was part of the group that attacked Mr Dominguez, was convicted on Wednesday.

Ahmad Habiibul Hakim Assalafi, 19, was a member of an online prostitution ring led by alleged pimp Malcolm Graham Head. The ring offered an underage girl who was only 16 at the time, and five men have been jailed so far for having commercial sex with her.

Hakim's role came to light on Wednesday when the court heard that he befriended the minor through Facebook and they became a couple.

By then, the minor had already been recruited into the vice business. She even took Hakim to meet Head and his girlfriend Veronica Patricia Rio, 19, not knowing that Hakim already knew Head.

The four of them ended up staying for a period of time in the same hotel room, and Hakim began working for the vice ring.

Between Feb 22 and March 4, he was paid between $50 and $100 a day from prostitution earnings. His role included escorting prostitutes to meet customers, ensuring their safety, and settling issues with problematic customers.

Ms Tan said Hakim introduced his sister, who is married with a child, to work as a call girl as she needed money badly. Nuurul Aliyyah received half of her prostitution earnings and served 20 customers who were procured for her.

When Nuurul Aliyyah and the minor were providing paid sexual services to their respective customers, Hakim, Head and Rio waited near Hotel Ibis in Bencoolen Street so that they could render help if needed.

That was how Mr Dominguez ended up being beaten by the group at his apartment on March 4.

The day after the attack, Hakim and his accomplices were arrested in an ambush in Arab Street, where he was found with a 24cm-long knife.

Hakim pleaded guilty to six of 15 charges: living off a minor's prostitution earnings; helping to manage a brothel; abetting two customers in obtaining paid sex with the 16-year-old girl; causing grievous hurt; and having an offensive weapon.

It also emerged in court that Hakim is one of 65 children of a man with 10 wives, and has been absent without leave from national service since early this year.

Hakim's lawyer Tania Chin said he wanted a jail sentence, but District Judge Hamidah Ibrahim called for a reformative training report to assess his suitability for the regime. He will be sentenced on Oct 22.

Another accomplice, Institute of Technical Education student Nur Azilah Ithnin, 20, was jailed last month. She received 22 months for attacking Mr Dominguez and taking Ice.
