Pub worker allegedly withdrew $6,000 from customer's ATM card

SINGAPORE - A 25-year-old pub worker, who allegedly withdrew $6,000 from a customer's bank account, has been arrested.

Police said in a statement that the suspect is a man who worked in a pub located along Orchard Road.

He is believed to have taken notice of the customer's personal identification number, and made several withdrawals from a nearby ATM when the customer handed over his card to pay the bill.

The pub worker will be charged for theft, and could be jailed up to three years and/or fined.
