Punggol's #instagramtree is felled

The single tree atop a small hill at Punggol Waterway Park, dubbed the Punggol Lone Tree or #instagramtree, was cut down yesterday. The Housing Board said that the tree, which was certified dead by arborists earlier this month after being struck by lightning in July, had to be removed as parts of it had been falling off without warning. The popular tree features in more than 1,700 Instagram posts.
