Rapist jailed after victim records him with phone

A man who raped a 16-year-old girl five times was jailed after the victim recorded his final attack on her mobile phone.

Lewis Cole, 20, had boasted, "I'll spend 15 years in prison for this", which was caught on a recording after he lured the girl into a field in Birmingham, UK, reported The Mirror.

The Birmingham Crown Court heard that Cole had raped the girl four times between last June and this February, reported the Birmingham Mail.

But the final attack - captured on a mobile phone in February - sealed his fate.

Mr Tom Schofield, for the prosecution, said the victim agreed to meet Cole and took her mother's mobile phone with her.

"She was hoping he would make a confession which she could record," said Mr Schofield.

What was actually recorded was an attack.

Cole got 12½ years' jail for five counts of rape.
