MANJUNG - A group of armed robbers settled for two make-up bags after they failed to crack open a safe at a house in Taman Intan, Sitiawan here.
It was the second robbery at the house.
At about 10am yesterday, five robbers arrived in a white Toyota Hilux, said Manjung OCPD Asst Comm Tengku Mohd Zailan Tengku Ahmad Shah.
One robber armed with a gun climbed over the front gate and held up a 28-year-old Filipina maid who was alone. She was drying some clothes at the time.
Two other robbers entered the house and proceeded to pry open the safe. Another criminal waited in the vehicle outside.
ACP Tengku Mohd Zailan said the robbers failed to crack the safe and decided to take the make-up bags before leaving.
The losses amounted to a few thousand ringgit.
Last Saturday, several robbers struck the house and stole watches, a laptop, mobile phones and cash. They also took the automatic gate remote control device.
The houseowner's wife, her sister, his two children and the maid were inside during the first incident. They were not harmed.
The houseowner later replaced the gate with a new one.
