S’pore serviceman killed in road accident in Australia

SINGAPORE - A Singaporean serviceman was killed in a traffic accident along a highway in Southern Queensland, Australia, on Tuesday.

MINDEF's statement regarding the death of Military Expert 3 Ganeson Thevarajah:

Military Expert 3 Ganeson S/O Thevarajah, an Air Force Engineer with the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) stationed at Oakey Training Centre, Australia, was involved in a road traffic accident along a highway in Southern Queensland on 24 Sep 2013 at about 0930hrs Queensland time (0730hrs Singapore time).

ME3 Ganeson was on his way to work when the accident took place. He passed away at the scene of the accident.

The RSAF is currently assisting the family. A Family Liaison Officer is providing assistance to the family.

The Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces extend our deepest condolences to the family of the late ME3 Ganeson.
