Over $27,000 has been raised for the family of Mr Mohammad Ghazi Bin Mohamed, a teacher from Tanjong Katong Primary School (TKPS), following news of his death in the recent Sabah earthquake.

The online fundraising page "Remembering Ghazi" was started by Mr Ghazi's football and hockey friends.

According to an update posted on the page on Thursday morning, a colleague of Mr Ghazi's wife is helping the group with the administration of the donation drive.

Mr Ghazi, 35, leaves behind his wife and three children. His youngest child is only a year old.

On Wednesday, the Ministry of Education confirmed the deaths of Mr Ghazi and pupil Navdeep Singh Jaryal Raj Kumar.
