SAF to conduct military exercises from June 8 to 15

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will conduct military exercises in various areas from June 8 to June 15, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said.

The exercises will take place at Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang, Mandai from 8am on Monday to 8am on June 15.

Blanks and thunderflashes will be used. The public is advised not to be alarmed and to keep clear of these areas.

SAF will also conduct live firing exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area from June 8 to June 15.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.

Live ammunition and flares will be used. The public is advised not to be alarmed and to keep clear of these areas.

The public should also keep clear of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai, which are proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds. Live firing exercises will take place at these locations from June 8 to June 13. Flares will be released during night firing.

Members of the public should not go near the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base.

The RSAF will also be conducting rehearsals for the National Day Parade on the following dates and times:

-10:30am to 12:30pm on June 2, 9 and 16

-5pm to 8:30pm on June 20, 27, as well as July 4, 11, 18 and 25

-5pm to 8:30pm on August 1
