SAF military and live-firing exercises from July 13-20

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will be conducting military exercises from July 13-20, said the Ministry of Defence (Mindef).

The SAF will be using blanks and thunderflashes during the exercises in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai.

It will also be conducting live-firing using live ammunition and flares in the Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live-Firing Area during this same period.

Sea vessels and craft sailing through the Western Johor Straits have been told to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the live firing boundary, said Mindef.

The public is advised to stay clear of the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base, as well as the islands of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai, which are proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be conducting live-firing exercises around these three islands from July 13-16 from 7am to 11pm; and July 18 from 8am to 1pm. Flares will be released during the night firing.
