SAF military and live firing exercises next week

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will be conducting military exercises in several areas from 8am on Monday, Aug 18, to 8am the following Monday.

SAF said in a statement today that exercises will be conducted in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai.

Blanks and thunderflashes will be used during the exercises.

SAF will also conduct live-firing exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) during the same period, and sea vessels sailing through the Western Johor Straits are advised to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not stray into the live-firing boundary.

The air force will be conducting live-firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang daily from 7am to 11pm from Monday to Friday, and from 8am to 1pm next Saturday (Aug 23).

The public is reminded to keep clear of the three islands.
