SAF, RSAF to conduct live firing exercises next week

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be conducting military and live firing exercises from May 5 to May 12.

The SAF will be conducting military exercises in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang, Mandai from 8am on May 5 to 8am on May 12.

It will also be conducting live firing exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area during the period.

Live ammunition and flares will be used, but the public is advised to not be alarmed and to keep clear of these areas.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits during the period are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.

The RSAF will be conducting live firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from May 5 to May 9 from 7am to 11pm daily, from 8am on May 10 to 4am on May 11 and on May 11 from 8am to 12pm.

Flares will be released during night firing.

The islands of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai are proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds. The public is advised to keep clear of these islands as well as the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base.
