SAF, RSAF to conduct military and live firing exercises next week

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be conducting military exercises and live firing exercises later this month.

SAF will be conducting military exercises from 8am on Nov 24 to 8am on Dec 1.

The exercises will be conducted in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai.

Blanks and thunderflashes will be used, and the public is advised not to be alarmed and to keep clear of these areas.

SAF will also be conducting live firing exercises in Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area form 8am on Nov 24 to 8am on Dec 1.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits in this period are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.

Live ammunition and flares will be used.

The islands of Pulau Sudong, Pulau Senang and Pulau Pawai have also been proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds. The public is advised to keep clear of these islands and also to stay clear of the prohibited waters off Changi Naval Base and Tuas Naval Base.

RSAF will be conducting Live Firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from Nov 24-28, daily from 7am to 11pm and Nov 29 from 8am to 1pm.

Flares will be released during the night firing.

The public is advised not be alarmed, and to keep clear of the areas where the exercises will be held.
