SINGAPORE - If you see emergency vehicles converging on the Padang late tonight or early tomorrow morning, don't be alarmed.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has said that it would be conducting an operational exercise at the Padang at 1.30am on Wednesday, July 29. The exercise is expected to end at about 3.30am.
SCDF said that about 350 personnel and 40 emergency and suppporting vehicles will be involved. All operational vehicles in the exercise will have their beacon lights switched on, it said.
During the exercise period, the following roads and lanes will be closed to traffic:
- The three left lanes of Saint Andrew's Road (between Parliament Place and Coleman Street)
- The two left lanes of Connaught Drive (between bus stop 02011 and Parliament Place)
- Connaught Drive (between Stamford Road and Fullerton Road)
