SCDF responds in style after man slams ambulance for blocking his car

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has responded to a man's facebook posting after he complained about being unable to drop off his kids due to an ambulance parked under the shelter.

Contributers to citizen journalism website Stomp Rose and apzdy had alerted Stomp to the man's original posting, which was accompanied by a photo of the ambulance parked under a shelter.

He had written, "Saving people so they can just park here. It's raining now. How to let my kids alight for school?"

The posting drew criticism from many netizens, and was subsequently deleted.

However, screenshots of the man's comments continued making the rounds online and was shared by various facebook pages.

One such page was Temasek Review, and the SCDF has since responded to the incident on the same thread.

They wrote in a comment:

"The ambulance was parked under the shelter while our paramedics attended to a case of Cardiac Arrest this morning, at around 7am. This was done to ensure that the patient can be conveyed to the hospital in the fastest way possible.

"We take it seriously when it comes to saving lives because every second matters. To all who have been with us - Thank you.

"Remember - Give way to emergency vehicles. Have a heart, play your part and together, we are #ANationOfLifeSavers".
