SCDF to sound 'Important Message' signal this Sunday

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will be sounding the 'Important Message' signal islandwide on SCDF Day this Sunday at 12.05pm.

The public is advised not to be alarmed by the minute-long exercise, and to tune in to any local radio station to listen to a broadcast by SCDF.

In addition to educating the public on the Public Warning System (PWS), the radio broadcast message for this year incorporates a public advisory to remind listeners against discarding items at common areas of residential premises.

The sounding is held annually as part of SCDF's efforts to familiarise the public with the three PWS sirens and how they should react upon hearing each siren.
