SINGAPORE - The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) terminated the search and rescue (SAR) operations for missing persons from the capsized Bolivia-flagged barge Heng Hong 168 at 5pm today.

On Dec 24, Indonesian authorities reported that they recovered a body off Tanjung Pinang. The identity of the body is still being verified and it is still not clear whether it is one of the missing crew members from Heng Hong 168, said the MPA in a statement today.

The barge capsized on Dec 19 in Singapore waters about three nautical miles west of Horsburgh Lighthouse.

Of the eleven crew members reported to be on board the barge during the time of the incident, six were rescued on the same day and another on Dec 22 in the course of the MPA's SAR operations.
