Sembawang supermarket employee arrested for theft

SINGAPORE - A 17-year-old woman working at Fortune Supermarket located at Blk 463 Sembawang Drive has been arrested for theft.

Cash was reportedly stolen from the supermarket, and the woman was subsequently arrested on July 18, the police said in a statement Sunday.

Cash amounting to $300, 72 lucky draw vouchers, 4 packets of cigarettes and 2 bags were seized.

The woman will be charged in Court on July 20. Anyone found guilty of committing the offence of Criminal Breach of Trust as a Servant under Section 408 of the Penal Code, Chapter 224, may be punished with an imprisonment term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to fine.
