Sex slave breaks her silence after 12 years

BESUT - For 12 years, the young girl had allegedly endured being made a sex slave to her father. On Wednesday, however, the 18-year-old, unable to bear it any longer, broke her silence.

The Form Six student from Jerteh told one of her teachers about her ordeal and was immediately taken to the Jerteh police station, where she lodged a report.

A police source said the girl had alleged in her report that she was first raped when she was 6. The last incident occurred on Aug 21.

The source said the girl had told her mother, on many occasions but the mother could not do anything about it.

"The mother was instead beaten by her father every time she questioned him about what the girl had told her."

After a while, the girl stopped bringing the matter up as every time she did that, her father would beat up her seven siblings.

"The victim alleged that in the last incident, her father took her to an oil palm plantation behind their house and raped her."

District police chief Superinten dent Kamaruddin Mohd Zakaria said police picked up the 42-year-old self-employed man at his house at 10pm on Wednesday.

He said the man was taken to the Kampung Raja police station while the girl was sent for a medical examination and treatment at Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian yesterday.
