SINGAPORE - The Ministry of Education (MOE) has appointed a new principal for Shuqun Secondary School.
The Jurong East school was in the spotlight in September over an alleged bullying case that was caught on camera. In the video, a secondary school student was seen slapping his classmates on the head multiple times.
Mr N Sivirajan will take over Mr Chia Hai Siang as the new principal for Shuqun Secondary. He is among one of the 21 newly-appointed principals by the MOE.
A total of 62 principals were appointed by the MOE on Wednesday, of which 41 are assuming new appointments. A ceremony will be held on Dec 29, where Letters of Appointment will be presented to them.
Mr Sivirajan was formerly the vice-principal of Northland Secondary School. He is appointed principal-designate of Shuqun Secondary School from Thursday, reported Channel NewsAsia.
According to MOE, Mr Chia will be pursuing his postgraduate studies, reported Channel NewsAsia.
