SIA to serve chicken rice, laksa onboard flights in July

Travellers flying with Singapore Airlines (SIA) during the month of July will have plenty to cheer about as the airline will be serving "Popular Local Fare" dishes in all cabin classes on selected flights for the entire duration of the month.

Customers flying with Suites, First Class, and Business Class will get to enjoy local specialties such as Singapore Chicken Rice, Nasi Lemak, Fish Ball Kway Teow Soup, Prawn and Chicken Laksa, and Peranakan Hokkien Mee Soup.

For Premium Economy Class and Economy Class customers, local dishes like Char Siew Rice, Fried Carrot Cake and Hainanese Pork Chop will be available on selected flights.

The intiative is brought about by a collaboration between SIA and the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), in conjunction with the 24th edition of the Singapore Food Festival, as well as SIA's 70th anniversary celebrations.

But the bottom line is, no matter which class you may choose to travel with, the choice of local favourites will be open to all customers.

Some of the local dishes are only currently available through pre-order via SIA's "Book the Cook" service.
