Singapore and Jordan reaffirm warm relations

SINGAPORE - Singapore and Jordan have reaffirmed their warm relations with the visit of His Royal Highness (HRH) Prince Ghazi Bin Muhammad Bin Talal, Chief Advisor for Religious and Cultural Affairs and Personal Envoy of King Abdullah II of Jordan to Singapore.

HRH Prince Ghazi called on Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean on Nov 17 where they exchanged views on developments in Asia and the Middle East, as well as the global terrorism threat.

HRH Prince Ghazi also met Minister for Communications and Information, Minister-in-charge of Cyber Security and Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, where they explored possible collaboration between Singapore and Jordan in the area of religious education, and reaffirmed the importance of increasing mutual understanding amongst various cultures and religions.

Mr Yaacob also expressed his appreciation for Jordan's hospitality towards Singaporean students in Jordan.

HRH Prince Ghazi is visiting Singapore to deliver the S R Nathan Distinguished Lecture on Nov 17, at the invitation of the Middle East Institute of the National University of Singapore.
