Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs (SMS), Mr Masagos Zulkifli has concluded his three-day working visit to Malaysia from Dec 2 to 4, 2013.
During his visit, Mr Masagos called on Minister of Home Affairs Dato' Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, where both ministers reaffirmed Singapore's close relationship with Malaysia in the areas of security and law enforcement. Dato' Seri Dr Zahid Hamidi also accepted the invitation from Deputy Prime Minister, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Teo Chee Hean to visit Singapore next year.
Both Mr Masagos and his counterpart, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar expressed their commitment to strengthen cooperation in combating transnational crimes, including drugs enforcement cooperation. Both sides shared their experiences and best practices in tackling the menace posed by drugs and representatives from the Singapore Corporation of Rehabilitation Enterprises (SCORE), Singapore Anti-Narcotics Association (SANA) and National Council Against Drugs Abuse (NCADA) also had the opportunity to explore possible areas of cooperation with the relevant Malaysian agencies.
Mr Masagos also called on Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato' Hamzah Zainudin and both ministers reaffirmed the warm bilateral ties between the two countries. As part of his visit, he also called on Federal Territories Minister and UMNO Secretary General Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
