Singapore and Malaysia strengthen ties with joint seminar

SINGAPORE - The 36th Malaysia-Singapore Public Service Games and 5th Joint Seminar, organised as platforms for Public Sector Leaders of Singapore and Malaysia to forge deeper ties, is being held in Putrajaya, Malaysia from November 8 to 10, 2013.

Mr Peter Ong, Head of the Singapore Civil Service, leads the 20-member delegation comprising Singapore's High Commissioner to Malaysia, Permanent Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries and senior civil servants.

Hosting the Singapore delegation will be Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa, the Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, together with a delegation of 37 Malaysian senior civil servants, comprising Malaysia's High Commissioner to Singapore, Secretary Generals and senior officials from the Malaysian Civil Service.

The Joint Seminar will see an exchange of views between the public sector leaders of the two countries. Topics to be discussed at the Seminar include public engagement, governance as well as inter-agency collaboration. Besides the Joint Seminar, the three-day programme also includes meetings between the Singapore delegation and their respective counterparts, an official dinner hosted by the Chief Secretary, as well as social games.
