Singapore appoints new ambassador to Philippines
Ms Kok Li Peng has been appointed Singapore's Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines, MFA said on Friday.

SINGAPORE - Singapore has a new ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines in Ms Kok Li Peng.

This appointment was announced in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) today, and will take effect on Mar 30.

Ms Kok joined the foreign service in 1995, and last served as Director-General (ASEAN) from Mar 2012 to Jan 2015.

Her other previous appointments include Deputy Director (Malaysia and Brunei) from April 2006 to Aug 2008, and Deputy Permanent Representative in the Permanent Mission of Singapore to the United Nations in New York from Sep 2008 to Jan 2012.

The 1994 law graduate from NUS obtained a Masters in Arts (Political Science) from Columbia University in 2006 on a Fulbright Scholarship. Ms Kok was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2008.
