SINGAPORE- For the first time in Singapore Blog Awards history, public votes take on a new level of importance as the organisers unveil the "Top 10 Most Popular Blogs" voting activity.

From now till July 6 (3pm), members of the public can vote for their favourite bloggers to become the Top 10 Most Popular Blogs, and/or Twitter and YouTube influencers. Upon the conclusion of this year's Singapore Blog Awards, lucky voters will also be selected to win prizes from presenting sponsor Panasonic Singapore.

Top 10 Most Popular Blogs

In the past years, grand winners of Editors'/Judges' Choice and Advertisers' Choice award categories are determined by 70 per cent Judges' scores and 30 per cent public votes. In this eighth year, the grand winner of each category will be determined entirely by judges' scores, while public votes will go towards identifying the "Top 10 Most Popular Blogs" of the year.

To encourage voters to check out more blogs beyond their usual preferred reads, all voters will be required to vote for a total of 10 finalists (regardless of categories) per submission, and may submit votes once per day.

The 10 blogs with the highest number of votes, regardless of contesting categories, will emerge at the Top 10 Most Popular Blogs. The Top 10 Most Popular Blog winners will receive prizes from Panasonic Singapore, and lucky voters will also stand to win prizes for participating.

Followers' Choice Awards - Favourite YouTube Channel and Favourite Twitter Influencer

After the appearance of popular Member of Parliament Mr. Baey Yam Keng in last year's Favourite Twitter Influencer category, 2015 contenders see yet another formidable name. Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong (@leehsienloong) has been nominated for the category, alongside local favourite mrbrown (@mrbrown). All 10 finalists in this year's Favourite Twitter Influencer category have their roots in Singapore, such as Singapore Memory Project's Twitter account @iremembersg, hilarious "Ah Beng" and his antics @ahbengpls, and 2014's Favourite Twitter Influencer @spinorbinmusic.

On the video front, this year's Favourite YouTube Channel finalists include a good mix of local and overseas accounts, from the uniquely Singapore voices of JianHao Tan and Ryan Sylvia to LA-based Korean American beauty blogger Clothes Encounters, and even Amogood (谷阿莫), a Taiwanese channel popular for its humorous video summaries of the hottest movies and drama serials.

Voters may cast one vote per category per day for the Favourite YouTube Channel and Favourite Twitter Influencer awards respectively. For more information, visit http://sgblogawards.omy.sg.

Singapore Blog Awards 2015 is presented by Panasonic Singapore, LG Electronics Singapore, and supported by SPH Digital, with more than S$12,000 worth of prizes up for grabs.
